No. On an adjustable bed, “zero gravity” names a positioning preset; it does not create weightlessness or establish a sleeping position that suits everyone. A preset that feels comfortable during a short rest does not mean you should keep it all night. Confirm that the exact model offers the function, try it with the actual mattress combination, and decide according to your own comfort.
A preset name is not a universal answer
An adjustable bed changes support by moving the back, leg or other available sections. The name “zero gravity” does not remove gravity. Nor does it establish that a particular angle suits your body, pillow, mattress or habits.
A preset can provide a convenient starting point for a trial. Personal adjustment means changing the position within the model's permitted range according to your preferences. Whether you can fine-tune, save a personal position or alter a preset depends on the actual control system; a mode name alone establishes none of these capabilities.
Start flat before deciding about the preset
- Identify the pairing: record the complete model, configuration, quoted mattress and pillow. Do not substitute an impression from a different setup.
- Start flat: wait for the bed to stop, then try your usual sleeping positions and turn over naturally. Everyday mattress comfort still needs its own assessment.
- Try the preset: if the selected model offers it, have staff demonstrate starting, stopping and returning to flat according to its instructions before the intended user tries it.
- Choose by feel: if fine adjustment is supported, change the position as directed. Stop if uncomfortable; neither the maximum angle nor using a named preset is a goal in itself.
A short demonstration helps identify mismatches and questions, but cannot establish long-term suitability. This guide sets no universal angle or trial-duration threshold. See the full showroom checklist.
Three situations can lead to different choices
You enjoy reclining to read but sleep flat
Suppose a buyer enjoys an adjusted reading position but prefers lying flat for sleep. Those preferences can coexist. Buying a preset function does not turn a short-rest position into an all-night requirement.
You usually sleep on your side but tried only a back-lying demonstration
Suppose another buyer enjoys the demonstration but has not tried their usual side-sleeping position. The next step is to return to flat and assess the mattress, pillow and ease of turning before deciding about extra adjustment. A back-lying demonstration does not establish suitability for side sleeping.
One person wants raised legs and the other wants to lie flat
Suppose two sleepers prefer different positions. Check which back and leg sections adjust independently, confirm mattress compatibility, and try the arrangement together. A preset name does not establish independent left-right movement, and a split-head layout does not necessarily provide independent legs. Use the movement-zone checklist. These are hypothetical situations, not customer outcome reports.
Make the mode a specific buying question
- Which complete model, control box and remote are included in the quote? Does that configuration actually offer the preset?
- Which sections move in the demonstration, and can the needed sections be adjusted separately?
- According to the model's instructions, how do you stop, leave the preset and return to flat?
- Can it remember a personal position or modify a preset? If so, under what conditions?
- What separate trial, return and service terms apply to the base and mattress? Obtain them in writing.
Keep undocumented functions as questions to confirm. A preset does not automatically establish an app, memory or left-right separation, and cannot replace professional positioning advice required by an individual's health circumstances.
How DEPY describes zero gravity
The current DEPY adjustable-base page describes zero gravity as a positioning preset and states that actual presets and app functions depend on the supplied control box, remote and control system. A range description therefore cannot establish that every DEPY model has the same preset button.
Describe how you normally sleep and how you want to adjust the bed while resting, then confirm the matching configuration. This guide makes no claim of weightlessness, treatment, a universal best angle, or NASA certification or endorsement.
