An adjustable bed base is a powered support platform that raises the upper body and/or legs. “Smart bed” is a broader commercial term that may add presets, app control, massage, sensing or automatic response. A smart mattress may contain sensing, air, temperature, audio or massage technology and may or may not move. An integrated adjustable mattress combines the mattress appearance and the powered articulation structure in one product.
The strongest specification does not begin with the word “smart.” It begins with a clear answer to what moves, what senses and what the customer can control.

What can make a bed “smart”?
There is no single universal feature list. The label may refer to Bluetooth control, saved positions, vibration massage, non-contact sleep monitoring, pressure-responsive air cells, firmness adjustment, ventilation, heating or cooling. A credible quotation names each included function instead of relying on the word “smart.”

Why “smart bed frame” is common in China
In Chinese product language, 智能床架 is commonly used for powered adjustable bases even when their core function is motorized positioning. For an international quotation, “adjustable bed base” is usually the clearer structural term. “Smart adjustable bed base” can be used when the included control or sensing features are explicitly stated.
A buyer-ready feature checklist
- Which sections move: head, leg, lumbar or independent left/right zones?
- Which controls are included: RF remote, Bluetooth app or both?
- Are massage, memory positions or sleep sensing standard or optional?
- Does the app work in the destination country and language?
- What happens during and after a power interruption?
- Which size, voltage, plug, upholstery and packing are required?
