Fitting inside the lift is only one part of the route. Before ordering, confirm every package, the full access route and the delivery and installation scope in writing. Assembled dimensions do not replace package dimensions; handling and access must be checked for the exact configuration.
Start with every package, not the assembled bed size
Ask for the complete model and configuration, the number of packages, and the length, width, height and gross weight of each package. A bed set may arrive as separate base, mattress, headboard and surround components. Identify any package that could constrain the route. Ask the supplier which transport orientations and handling methods are allowed. Folding, separating or unpacking for access must be confirmed for the exact product and agreed with the delivery team; do not assume another model's method applies.
Walk the whole route to the final room
Record the unloading point, building entrance, lift door and cabin, corridors, turns, front door, bedroom doorway and final placement. Where stairs or steps are involved, include landings, rails and overhead obstructions. Measure usable openings with doors in their actual open position, including projections such as handles or fixed cupboards. A nominal door size is not the clear opening.
A long package also needs room to turn. In a hypothetical home, it fits inside the lift, but a right-angle corridor and fixed cupboard restrict the next turn. Lift dimensions alone cannot settle that question. Send clear measurements, photographs and the relationship between turns to the supplier and delivery team for assessment. This checklist is not a geometric passage calculation or a guarantee that the package will fit.
Agree where delivery ends and installation begins
Before ordering, record whether delivery means unloading, the building entrance, the front door or the intended room. Confirm stair carrying, floor or distance surcharges, and any special handling arrangements. Ask separately whether assembly, power connections and the prescribed operation check are included. Clarify disposal of the old bed and packaging, appointment changes, and the procedure and charges if access proves unsuitable. Keep the answer in the quotation or order. “Home delivery” alone does not define these services.
Prepare the route and working space
Clear movable obstacles along the agreed route and around the bed position. Confirm building access, delivery booking and service-lift hours where relevant. Have the installer check power, approved support and movement clearances against the model instructions. Do not dismantle motors, remove load-bearing parts or bend a mattress to force it through a doorway. If access is doubtful, stop and have the supplier and delivery team confirm a suitable plan.
