Before adjusting, locate children and pets and check the movement area from outside the bed. Keep controls secure and confirm the exact model’s lock and stopping instructions. A protective-feature claim does not replace supervision.
Locate children and pets before pressing a control
A space previously used for storage or by a pet may now contain moving mechanisms. Keep children and pets away from underneath the bed and its movement area. If their location or the area is unclear, do not start adjustment. Do not treat the remote as a toy.
Inspect from outside the bed
Look for toys, boxes, loose bedding or cables in the movement path. Keeping the legs clear is not enough to establish clearance for the mechanism. Do not go beneath a raised bed or reach in while operating it. Use the exact model’s safe shutdown and handling instructions before clearing or servicing; do not dismantle the mechanism.
Check cables and bedding
Keep cables out of walking routes and away from compression by legs, frames or moving parts. Check for fabric hanging into moving areas after making the bed. Ask the installer about approved cable routing, securing points and movement allowance. Do not solve a routing issue by pulling cables tight or modifying wiring.
Confirm locks, stopping and timed functions
A remote does not establish the presence of a child lock. Ask which controls a lock covers, how its state is shown and how to stop an initiated movement. Where memory, automatic return or timed functions are offered, confirm their triggers. Do not borrow another model’s button sequence or ask a child to test protective functions.
An everyday planning example
Suppose you are about to recline and cannot see a pet that often goes under the bed. Put the control down, locate the pet and clear the movement area first. Do not raise the bed to search underneath. Never use a person’s body or an animal to test a protective-feature claim. This is an illustrative planning situation, not an incident report or product certification.
Keep four answers with the order
Record the exact model and manual, areas to keep clear, control storage or locking requirements, and the stopping instructions and fault contact. Share these with everyone operating the bed. Child locks, obstruction detection and automatic protection must be confirmed for the delivered configuration; they are not established here as universal DEPY features.
