Smart-bed technology guide

What is non-contact sleep monitoring in a smart bed?

A sensor beneath the mattress can turn nightly signals into an app report without asking the sleeper to wear a watch.

Direct answer

DEPY's optional non-contact sleep-monitoring route uses a sensor beneath the mattress. It follows general sleep status and heart-rate trends, then sends the information by Bluetooth to an app that generates a report. It is a consumer wellness function, not a medical diagnosis.

The value is convenience: sensing happens through the bed, so the user does not need to remember to charge or wear another device.

How the system works

  1. An under-mattress sensor detects small body signals during sleep.
  2. A compatible control system processes the available sleep and heart-rate indicators.
  3. Bluetooth connects the system to the designated mobile app.
  4. The app presents the recorded night as a consumer sleep report.

Why the app must be confirmed for each market

A sensor is only one part of the experience. The control system, app language, account availability and regional compatibility must also work in the destination country. DEPY can discuss an international/English-system route, but the exact app and compatibility are confirmed in the quotation before an overseas order.

Do not bundle unrelated options

Sleep sensing, powered lumbar support and vibration massage are separate functions. An SH100 powered-lumbar configuration does not automatically include sensing or massage; each option must appear explicitly in the approved specification and price.

Six questions a buyer should ask

  • Which sensor, control system and app are included?
  • Does the app work in the destination country and required language?
  • Which sleep and heart-rate indicators appear in the report?
  • Does a shared bed require one or two sensing zones?
  • Is any subscription, cloud account or mobile permission required?
  • Are API access or raw data export actually included?

For a continuous 1800 mm surface, separate reporting for two sleepers should never be assumed without a confirmed sensor layout. Final sensing functions depend on the selected hardware, app version and approved specification.

Tell DEPY the market, bed size, user scenario and reporting requirements. We will identify what must be confirmed before quotation.
